Điểm mới của cuộc thi “Vietnam’s Next Top Model” 2013 là cuộc tranh tài giữa cả nam và nữ. Vì lý do này mà dàn thí sinh năm nay có vẻ như đông đúc hơn các mùa giải trước. Ngay khi có thông tin tuyển sinh, nhiều chàng trai đã hăm hở với việc rèn luyện hình thể và tập luyện catwalk để tham gia cuộc thi. Đối với họ đây là cơ hội lớn để có được nhiều trải nghiệm thú vị trong quá trình thực hiện giấc mơ trở thành người mẫu của mình.

Dàn thí sinh nam “lép vế” hoàn toàn trước lực lượng thí sinh nữ hùng hậu có hình thể đẹp, có sự tìm hiểu kỹ lưỡng về thông tin như phương pháp tạo được ấn tượng ban đầu.

Một số mẫu nam có khuôn mặt ăn ảnh và chiều cao ấn tượng (từ 1m83 đến 1m86) nhưng lại thiếu sự tự tin và cách chọn trang phục không phù hợp cũng bị loại ngay ở buổi casting đầu tiên. Nhưng chương trình năm nay cũng xuất hiện những hạt giống hứa hẹn sự tỏa sáng và bứt phá.

Overall i think the cast was better than ANTM 20 especially the girls! And the boys have tons potential too.. So excited to watch this show... I don't know about the personality because asian is more shy and not open like American.. Hopefully the boys will bring  drama because that's what this show didn't have since cycle 1... High expectation for this NTM series!

ANTM c20 episode 9: "Party In The U.L.A"

Previously on America’s Next Top Model, the models were put to the ultimate challenge: dressing themselves. For putting on the least-ugly outfit, Don was awarded some free ice cream (we’ve fallen on hard times, guys). During a slow-motion paint shoot, Jourdan became a living art installment. And despite Phil’s performance, Jiana was the Monet of the season. Now, only eight models remain. Who will be eliminated tonight?

Still trying to get accustomed to living in the world of his creation, Phil [Jesus] decides to mellow out with his fellow competitors. Upset with Jiana’s elimination, he joins in on Jourdan’s first-call-out celebrations:

“TOP EIGHT!” the models roar as they return home. Jourdan computes for a second, and utters a simple “woo”. Fearful that they are praising Jourdan’s image, Phil gets up to inspect the false idol:

Enraged that anyone could name this false prophet the “queen” of social media, Phil runs upstairs and quickly reconvenes with his Father. “Forgive them, for they know not their sin,” Phil cries as Renee snuggles with Jourdan.

Trying to “keep her enemies closer”, Renee tries to buddy up to Jourdan. Feeling that her gears might need some new oil soon, jouR2D2 decides to split the Tyra Suite with her new BFF Renee.

Marvin, on the other hand, is traumatized from yet another elimination. Trying to keep his mind off of sobbing, he flirts with the entire cast. “I’ve cried in the girl’s room, I cried in the bathroom, I cried everywhere,” he charms Renee. “Marvin’s like thirty years older than me,” Renee retorts. Still, he manages to croak out a seductive hey, baby before his Alzheimer’s silences him.

Unable to resist the lure of his AARP membership, Renee decides to cuddle with Marvin. Stroking his thinning white hair, Renee talks to Marvin in order to remain calm. Because he’s lived through the 1929 tragedy, Marvin makes a Great Anti-Depressant. 

Fashion Weak

The next day, the models are greeted by Rob Evans and Alexis Borges, the manager of NEXT Models. “I see such fresh faces here today,” Alexis notices before Marvin’s arrival. He tells them that they will be walking for two major clients.

Jourdan is ecstatic at the prospect of walking in L.A. runway shows. Nina’s nerves, however, only worsen as she doesn’t have the right look for Legs&Ass Fashion Week. 

During their casting with Paulie Gibson, Marvin is the only male who lacks the charisma of the brand. Despite having a walk that’s “too good”, Jourdan is also chastised for being a soulless automaton. Hopefully, her download of iOS7 includes a personality feature.

Renee, on the other hand, strikes gold in her casting. She embodies the cool L.A. vibe and her speedy walk entices the client.

California Gold Rush

At the end of the day, Paulie Gibson decides to book everyone except Marvin and Jourdan. Afterwards, the models are split into castings for Civil Society and XCVI.

Due to a thorough McAfee inspection, Jourdan is confident that she will impress the second designer.“This is the kind of stuff I wear at home,” she lies. Unless her closet is full of drapery and polyester onesies, Jourdan is just desperately working the client.

Unfortunately for her, Renee’s stomp gets her the second book. With the realization that she has booked 0 of 2 jobs, Jourdan’s circuitry malfunctions. Her eyes close, and a lone tear rolls down her cheek alaTerminator. 

In the guy’s session with Civil Society, Chris and Don are lauded. Marvin finds that his smile makes him look like a child, and the client finds issue with his mouth. Sadly for Marvin, he has the dreaded Miley Cyrus Syndrome: an uncontrollable tongue. It’s flopped out in the middle of his walk and licked several pairs of jeans.

At the end, Civil Society decides to book Chris, Don, and Phil. Marvin and Jourdan decide to throw a pity party. As the other models walk, Marvin’s tongue gets hammered while jouR2D2 weeps in silence like a true Jedi.

Luke Crywalker

After modeling some glorified pajamas, all of the models are critiqued. Phil is chastised for not respecting the garments, while Don is lauded for his strong walk. It is Renee however, who wins the judges’ favor.

Back at the house, Phil is enraged at his 8. If he didn’t drag his oversized sweater on the runway’s floor, he could have won the challenge. Out of fish and bread to multiply, Jesus retorts to wailing on a punching bag (nicknamed: Judas).

Afterwards, the models get their Tyra Mail: “Fashion is a reflection of you. Luv Tyra.”

Field of Dreams

The next day, the models are taken to the Canyon Ranch where they are met by Johnny Wujek. He instructs them to embody magical creatures for a photoshoot in the field. The models will pose with a mirror to encapsulate a mythical look.

Before her shoot, Jourdan decided to exact revenge on Renee for making her seem stupid on set. She ventures out to the field and finds a stray toad. Oblivious to the racial implications of giving a black girl a frog, Jourdan launches the amphibian at Renee. In true Disney manner, Renee swats it away and pushes Jourdan away. FIGHT THE POWER ‘NEE!

Nina is very elegant with her poses, and uses the couture dress to its fullest magical extent. With his newly tinted hair, Marvin personifies the sexy fairy-tale role quite nicely.

Little Red Ride-his Wood

Nevertheless, Johnny wanted more variety in his body positioning. Cory, on the other hand, was great when it came to different facial and body shapes.

Chris gives the photographer the right kind of intensity during the shoot. Phil, however, fails to incorporate Rob’s advice of having fierce eyes. Even though he tries to tone his body, his face remains too soft for this type of shoot.

Before he starts, Johnny tells Jourdan to let loose. “I can be crazy,” the monotone promises. “I’m not like other girls,” Jourdan proclaims as she readjusts her antennae. Don and Renee both do well in the shoot, despite having a frog in the premises.

After a day full of emotional abuse from the amphibious arms of Jourdan, Renee decides to give in and cuddle with Marvin. He warns her of the Marvin Curse (patent pending) where every girl that he’s liked has ended in misfortune. Need examples? 

۰ Marvin liked Bianca and she was eliminated.
۰ Marvin liked Chlea and she was eliminated.
۰ Marvin liked Tina Fey and 30 Rock was cancelled.

Nevertheless, Renee takes the bait. Totally disregarding that polygamous marriage from Week 1, Renee seduces Marvin and his floppy Miley Cyrus tongue.

HomeWrecking Ball

And after an hour or so, they can’t stop. And they won’t stop. Until Tyrant forces them with a Skull Mail.

“You all know our judges. First, we have PR maven, Kelly Cutrone. Next, we have sexy British male model, Rob Evans. We also have our social media correspondent, Bryanboy."

“You know our prizes. The winner of America’s Next Top Model will receive a fashion feature in Nylon Magazine, be offered a contract with Next Models, and receive a $100,000 campaign with Guess.”

Nina: Tyra calls it ethereal and awards a 10. Kelly and Rob agree with their graceful 9s.



Don: Rob feels that he looks "out of place" and along with Kelly, grants him 7s. Tyra settles on an 8.



Renee: Kelly feels that she's too scrunched over and deems it a 7. Rob and Tyra love her face and go with a 9 and 10.



Jourdan: Tyra calls it a "cheap" shot and deems it a 6. The other judges disagree with the verdict, calling it an "innocent" 9.



Cory: The ladies think it's disproportionate and settle on 8s. Rob likes the masculinity and lauds with a 9.



Phil: With his soft eyes and strange body, he receives an array of 5, 6, and 7.



Chris: After likening it to Twilight, the ladies give him 10s. Rob settles on a 9.



Marvin: He has a strong face, but the 'baby' often comes out. He's given 8s by the women, while Rob chastises him with a 6.

"Eight beautiful models stand before me. But I only have 7 photos in my hands. And these seven photos represent the seven of you who are still in the running toward becoming America’s Next Top Model. The model with the best score and therefore, best photo is…”

But before you crucify yourselves, remember than Phil has a chance to return to the competition. Along with the other eliminated models, Phil's social media score will tell if he can return. Now, as Tyra announces this twist, Phil freaks out. His whole body is shaking, as if he's praying with his whole body to the Father, the Son, and the

Holey Spirit
Before the comeback contender is announced, Tyra comments that the models will be going to Bali. After screaming, crying, and peeing themselves over a place they pretend to know, the models learn that, with a social media score of 7.0,

ALEXANDRA WILL RETURN. In addition, a male model will be joining her, who will be revealed next week.

ANTM c20 episode 8: "Paint Me Like One Of Your Wench Girls"

Previously on America’s Next Top Model, the models were farmed and loaded during a shoot for Emmerson. After the boys clowned around with Kanani, they took on a nail art shoot. Jourdan nailed it, while Kanani and Jourdan were removed from the competition. Now, only 8 models remain, who will be eliminated tonight?

The remaining models lament their fallen comrades during their limo ride back home.They go around the bonfire sharing their favorite memories of Kanani and Jeremy:

At the mention of Jeremy, Jourdan instinctively clutches her jacket and whispers “no”. 
“The…closest people to me ar-are gone!” Marvin cries. The other models nod their heads in agreement about these people they've known for 15 days.

To keep his mind off of his near ̶c̶r̶u̶c̶i̶f̶i̶x̶i̶o̶n̶ elimination, Phil decides to distract himself with ADHD-inspired antics. He attempts to enlist Jiana’s help, but she chooses not to focus on miracles. So, Phil grabs a tear-soaked Marvin and demonstrates the famous

Walking On Water

But not even biblical allusions can quench Marvin’s thirsty sadness. “I don’t have a-anyone to play with or have---talk to,” he sobs, realizing the wasted opportunity of not flirting with Kanani.

MyEveryTweed

The next day, the models are met by Kelly Cutrone in a reprieve from her usual black attire. In a slightly gray wardrobe, Kelly challenges the models to a fashion quiz for money. This cash will then be used to create an ensemble; and the model with the best look will claim victory to a $2000 MyEveryNeed gift certificate.

Desperate for a soul, Jourdan is pumped to collect her EveryNeed winnings. Marvin, however, wants to surprise his dad and claim a new mop as his EveryNeed splendor. 

With everyone hungry for the prize, Kelly starts the fashion quiz. Unfortunately, her intimidating presence and sub-par hosting skills makes this the blandest/scariest game show ever.

The Price Is Fright

Nevertheless, most of the models guess her multiple-choice questions correctly and pass her test(sounds like the public school system…)

The models run around the streets of L.A. with their limited budget and hunt down the deals. Phil, with only $25 to his name, attempts to haggle with the store owners to no avail. Must be atheists…

While Phil sulks in the street, he discovers a godsend: a roll of duct-tape with his Father’s name on it. He promptly gets to work on shoemaking.

Marvin, eager for the win, faces a moral dilemma. After pondering WWPD (What Would Phil Do), he decides to sabotage the other models by stalling their purchases. Nevertheless, by the end of the challenge, Kelly awards the win to…

DON. He chooses Marvin and Renee to accompany him in a visit to ̶M̶i̶k̶e̶'s̶ ̶g̶r̶a̶v̶e̶ an ice-cream parlor. Hesitant to let any girl fall from his grasp, Marvin attempts to flirt with Renee. With Don as back-up, he seductively chants:

I Scream, You Scream
We All Scream, For Your Cream

Back at the house, Jiana and Phil worry over their low challenge scores. After returning from ice cream, Marvin learns that he shares a 5 with Jiana & Phil and argues with Chris. Chris gracefully takes all of his insults and prepares for the next shoot.

Growing Paints

The models enter into Tyra’s art exhibit, where she has portrayed famous supermodels using only make-up and hair skills. As part of her eventual world domination, Tyra explains that these photos will be broadcast globally. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, Tyra’s image will be projected to gaze over her empire. Slowly but surely, no one will be able to escape

The All-Seeing I(man)

And now Tyra wants to incorporate the models into her installation. They will be in a glass room where they will need to hold a pose while being splashed with paint.

Jourdan and Don both took the paint well, making beautiful shapes. Chris had difficulties in the beginning, taming his crazy eyes. He was giving a Mr. Hyde smize instead of a Dr. Jekyll smize (it’s official, Tyra Banks has driven me to insanity…)

Cory is ecstatic to work with the red paint. He uses the classic film Carrie as inspiration and well; let’s just say that his shoot was definitely a period piece…

Renee and Nina were very elegant in her movements. Jiana however, had setbacks from the very beginning. “I hate being sticky,” she pleads, explaining why she’s been avoiding Phil. She tried hard to engage in the shoot, but couldn’t pull it out.

Marvin also had trouble reacting to the paint. Just like women are thrown at him, Marvin flinches at the novel experience. Still, he manages to get a decent shot.

After the shoot, Jiana and Phil worry about the impending elimination. They fear that the shoot, combined with their low challenge score, will send them home. Marvin stresses alongside them.

Despite the comforts of Phil and Don, Marvin cannot stop crying in the shower. The guys assure him that he has nothing to worry about, but he continues to sob. After ten minutes of Marvin’s hysteria, Phil decides to unleash another miracle: turning water into whine.

“Hosanna!” exclaimed the angels. Luckily, the producers invested in a canoe; and the models travel to panel via the newly formed aqueducts (thanks Marvin!).

Marvin: Tyra calls the pose "stiff yet strong". Kelly comments that he recycles the same face week-to-week. He receives a mix of 7, 8, and 9.



Don: Rob chastises him for looking like an athlete more than a model. He also experiences a mixed reception of 6, 7, and 8.



Jourdan: H2T, fierce, smize, tooch! Tyra nearly orgasms. The judges give her the obvious 10s for this "work of art."



Phil: Rob calls the face "too soft" and Kelly agrees. He is greeted with a 5, 6, and 7.



Renee: Kelly feels that she could have pushed more, and settles on a 7. The others disagree, calling her a "bird on fire". They give her flaming 10s.



Jiana: Awkward seems to be consensus between the judges. Like Phil, she receives the scattered 6, 7, and 8.



Chris: Tyra wanted relaxation but Kelly loves the strength. He receives a mixed 7, 8, and 9.



Cory: "Androgyny with a mix of power, Tyra claims with her 9. The other judges follow suit with 8s.



Nina: Nina is praised for having an editorial and powerful pose. She is given a 7, 8, and 9.

“Nine beautiful models stand before me. But I only have 8 photos in my hands. And these eight photos represent the eight of you who are still in the running toward becoming America’s Next Top Model. The model with the best score and therefore, best photo is…”

Next week, the models will take a turn in L.A. Fashion Week. Who can walk the walk? Until next week...

ANTM c20 episode 7: "Finger-Licking Good"

Previously on America’s Next Top Model, the guys and girls became fashion correspondents in the streets of Hollywood. After winning, Jeremy and Jourdan went on a sponsored date (we’re in a recession, guys…) Then, the models paired up for a gender-swapping fragrance commercial. While Cory strutted as a convincing female, Alexandra failed to be the best(osterone); and was eliminated. 

While Cory treats Jiana to the splendors of his Guess closet, the guys huddle around and decide to pull a prank on the girls. Their meeting went a little something like this:

Don: How ‘bout we flush Jourdan’s birth control, yo? Not like she needs it.
Jeremy: Nah! I’ll make my move soon, bro. Just me a month or two.
Marvin (twitching): How, how bout we tape their pan--panties on the wall?
Don: That’s awesome brah! Wanna do the taping?
Marvin (sweating profusely): Does that mean I can tou--touch them?

So the Three Stooges set out to the women’s quarters. After stealing a Vogue and a box of tissues (for research purposes, Marvin promises), the guys begin to tape up the area. Between Marvin’s sexual desperation and all of the taping chaos, the room ends up looking like the crime scene of an all-female mass murderer.

Jack(ing Off) The Ripper

While the guys marvel in their creation (with Chris Hansen as the special guest), Chris and Nina hang out. Chris confides that she’s the only person he can be genuine around and as a “savior”, Nina feels that their relationship is necessary. 

Phil announces that he has ADHD and being overly-affectionate with Jiana is one of his coping mechanisms. He attempts to flirt with Jiana in the Tyra Suite, oblivious to the glares from Cory; a silent observer observing mating heteros in their natural habitat.

Farm & Hammer

The models travel to the countryside, where they are met by Kelly Cutrone and Jackie Fraser-Swan, the creator of Emmerson. Because Kelly needed a new assortment of black and grey sweaters, the models must fare without a photographer. They will be split into teams where they will do each other’s hair, make-up, and photos. Cory, Phil, Chris, and Jiana decide to pay homage to aliens for their Emmerson advertisement. While the models agree on the theme, Phil has creative differences in regards to the Flixel portion of the photo. When he brings up running toward the aliens as the movement, Cory puts on the HBIC crown and quickly shuts him down. Nevertheless, Phil defies the command and sprints toward Cory anyway.

Race To Bitch Mountain

After his performance, Phil agrees to try another movement. He climbs the farm’s fence and when attempting to whack the alien over the head, he falls. Enraged, he impulsively throws the blunt object and breaks the fence. 

Kanani, Renee, and Jourdan are up next. They climb onto a trailer and take turns performing “random acts of modeling”.

Likewise, Don, Marvin, Nina, and Jeremy find a nice storyline for their shoot. They pretend to have a lover’s quarrel and Jeremy plays the disgruntled husband. In response, Jeremy chooses bros over (gardening) hoes; leaving Nina out of the second shoot.

After all of the shoots conclude, Kelly returns to assess. She notices the connection between the women in Kanani’s group and chastises Phil for destruction of property (insurance is a luxury ANTM cant afford to have, Phillip!)
In the end, Kelly admits that Jeremy’s group has the best photo, but they failed to incorporate the female Emmerson garments in both shots. So by default, the winners are Kanani, Renee, and Jourdan. 

Angered by Phil and Jeremy’s lackluster performances, the girls decide to ignore the distraction of men. Grouped with the image of a lesbonic meeting in the shower, the women agree to release their anger at the next photoshoot.

The Grapes of Bath

Armed with the knowledge of Kanani’s clown-phobia, the boys decide to retaliate and place the multi-colored freaks in her room. If we do it at night, maybe she’ll run out screaming in her p-p-panties, Marvin salivates internally. 

So upon Marvin’s request, the guys set out to Kanani’s room at night to set up their prank. She freaks out immediately and resorts to her inhaler to calm her down. Overwhelmed at the sight of Kanani putting her lips and blowing on a rod-like object, Marvin retires to his room, where a Vogue and Kleenex box await. 

In the living room, Chris is stressing about his challenge score of 6 and yells at Jiana. Attempting to diffuse the situation, Nina ends up receiving some shouts as well. Reaching her breaking point, Nina fights with Chris and leaves them both in tears. The other models fear that Chris’ emotional trauma is weighing Nina down and their unstable friendship needs to be terminated.

After that heated night, the models awaken to a shoot at Smashbox Studios. Johnny Wujek introduces them to their first solo shoot, where they will be modeling nail art. *insert joke about fingering here*
When first looking at the nail designs, the models ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’ like they’ve just discovered the (mani)cure to cancer. One-by-one, the models are given an array of shameless ANTM self-promotion, ranging from H2T to Flawsome nails. 

But the most ridiculous design was Cory’s “Tyra Nails”. With her face literally branded on his fingers, Tyra must have taken inspiration from George Orwell’s 1984 and made Cory a vessel for her new world. A realm where her idiotic advice is law and she views over all with the all-seeing smize. And the name of this omnipotent force?

Jourdan’s Monotone: Let’s stop all this false nonsense and talk about my shoot for the fantastic Tyra, shall we?

In celebration of Tyra’s international reach, Jourdan’s nails are illustrated with the flags of the countries that have their own Next Top Models. As expected, Jourdan gives variety in her expressions, poses, and shape. Basically everything but her speaking voice. 

Don, Marvin, and Chris all bring intensity in their photos. Renee has fun with her nail design, and smokes some Pot Ledom with the photographer backstage.

Nina, thinking about last night’s fight with Chris, becomes flustered on set. Likewise, Kanani lets her clown fears cloud her mind and her photos reflect her lack of focus. Jiana tries to block out Phil from her mind but still fails to impress. “Higher, higher, higher!” the photographer shouts, both to inspire Jiana and to track his drug use throughout this shoot.

Backstage, Jourdan has had enough of Jeremy. She calls him out for being “desperate and obsessed”. On set, he lets this boggle him down; performing poorly throughout the shoot. Phil also gets into his own head, letting Jiana’s recent activity confuse him. Nevertheless, his rugged sexy Jesus look works surprisingly well for the shoot. It crosses my mind that he would have lots of practice getting nailed.After the shoot, the models receive a Skull Mail:

“Tomorrow you will meet with the judges. Only nine of you will continue on in the hopes of becomingAmerica’s Next Top Model.”

Panel"You all know our judges. First, we have PR maven, Kelly Cutrone. Next, we have sexy British male model, Rob Evans. We also have our social media correspondent, Bryanboy."

“You know our prizes. The winner of America’s Next Top Model will receive a fashion feature in Nylon Magazine, be offered a contract with Next Models, and receive a $100,000 campaign with Guess.”



Cory: Tyra thinks he killed it and has "masculine energy". Rob gives him a manly 10 and the ladies settle on 9s.



Don: Kelly likes his editorial look but feels that he's not bringing enough fierceness. He receives a mixed bag of 7,8, and 9.



Kanani: Kelly loves the mood of the photo and lauds it with a 9. The other two, however, detest the "dead eyes" and deem it a 5.



Jourdan: High fashion seems to be the consensus. Tyra gives an 8 and the others award Jourdan some 9s.



Phil: Tyra gives him a sultry 8. Kelly and Rob agree that he looks like a Roman gladiator, and deem it a 7.



Jiana: Tyra calls it her "weakest shot" and gives a 5. Kelly agrees but hands out a 7. Rob praises her pose and gifts her a 9.



Nina: The judges give a mixed reception. Kelly feels that it's a 7, while Rob and Tyra argue with 6 and 8s.



Chris: Tyra calls it "insanely gorgeous" and gifts him a 10. He receives a mix of 9 and 8 from Rob and Kelly.



Renee: Kelly notes her progress as a model and grants her an 8. The Lovers feel that she's too boxy in this photo and deem it a 7.



Jeremy: Tyra likes it enough to give him a 7. Rob feels that Jeremy relies on his body too much, so his face here is strained and unsure. Along with Kelly, Rob gives him a 5.



Marvin: "You're a prisoner in the dungeon of divine," Kelly's drugs comment. Tyra lauds it and gives a 10 while the others praise with 9s.

“Eleven beautiful models stand before me. But I only have 9 photos in my hands. And these nine photos represent the nine of you who are still in the running toward becoming America’s Next Top Model. The model with the best score and therefore, best photo is…”

Next week, the models will participate in a paint shoot where Chris lets Marvin's taunting get to him. Even with the calming yellow paint, Chris' crazy eyes make their return. So, until next week, let's hope Chris' eyeballs can calm down.
