BINTM c9 episode 7: "Happy Ever Saffter"

Previously on Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model, the girls were challenged to a runway with eccentric accessories. Even though Saffron impressed with her animal crossing, it was Lauren who soared to new heights, winning her first challenge. At a nude shoot, Lauren once again boar it best, gaining photo of the week. Even though Emily couldn't part with her robe, it was Laura whose dreams were permanently covered up. Now, only nine girls remain. Who will be eliminated tonight?

Back in the house, Emily is gutted over Laura’s elimination. In the other room, Holly and Saffron scheme to overthrow Lauren and Sarah, whom they perceive to be the biggest threats. While they make plans to combat their competitors, the girls get an

E-MAIL. “All models bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small. Luv, Elle.”

Got Milk?

The girls arrive at a farm, where Sarah immediately squeals in delight. The models are joined by Tyson Beckford, Paul from Make Mine Milk and Daisy, their cow co-star. The girls will have to milk this opportunity to shoot a lactose advert.

Naomi goes first, and with her background in theater, delivers a near-perfect scene. She even closes the commercial like an actress at curtain call.

Take A Cow

Setting a high standard for the rest of the day, the other girls fail to live up to Naomi’s utter success. By the fifth performance, Paul, much like the vegan BINTM viewers, has “lost the will to live”. But luckily, Sophie’s charm and ability to sell brought back Paul’s good graces.

Lauren starts off with eagerness, ready to complete her first acting gig. But by being scared of the cow and having a general lack of control during the shoot, Paul felt that Lauren “doesn’t like milk, doesn’t like Daisy, and is a terrible actress.” With her secret disdain of dairy and plantlife exposed, Lauren cries backstage with the other girls.

Holly, the resident commercial girl, goes into the shoot feeling confident. After some lip slips, Holly is able to get over her commercial woes and, as if anointed with the saliva of the holy cows, gives the best audible performance so far.

Speaking In (Cow) Tongues

After Holly’s baptism via cow spit, Paul has decided that he’s seen enough and is ready to crown a winner. For being the least amount of terrible, Paul deems Sophie the victor.

While Sophie stews over her 1000 pound shopping spree win, the other girls crowd around for an…

E-MAIL! “Mirror Mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest Top Model of them all? Luv, Elle.”

Heads or Tales

After some strenuous hair and make-up, Elle prompts the girls for this fairy-tales shoot. Elle wants each model to not solely embrace the character, but also portray the correct emotion of each princess.

Lauren came to set with a spark, which she translated to chemistry with her Beast. In the end, she “hoped” that she gave the photographer some great Beauty. Despite having one of the most recognizable fairy tales, Saffron found it difficult to portray the shock of finding a wolf in her grandmother’s house. After envisioning a stroll through the ghetto, Saffron was able to really display fear.

Little Red Riding (In The) Hood

Naomi’s dreams came true when she went first as Sleeping Beauty. Even during slumber, Naomi managed to capture a natural elegance that both the photographer and Elle praise. Sarah also got into the childish glee of the shoot with her portrayal of Gretel. Resisting the urge to get handsy with Hansel, Sarah was able to fully commit to innocence.

While they were in hair and make-up, Snow White Angel decided to do some method acting and confronted Holly about some past fights with Sarah. Unlike her Wicked Witch persona, Holly went on the defensive and got teary-eyed at the mentions of “bitch”. Sophie, steering clear of the drama backstage, scrubbed away all the negativity and impressed with her fashion interpretation of Cinderella.

After her attempts to diffuse the situation backstage, Holly abandons Angel to prepare for her photoshoot. After receiving this grandiose headpiece, Holly is able to embody the costume and, just like Cher during her Academy Award loss, radiates pure anger.

Whose The Cher-est Of Them All?

Emily struggled with the weight of her Rapunzel curls, and even with some direction from Elle, had difficulty capturing her loneliness. Angel took some time to commit to the innocence of Snow White, and after the shoot, cried to Elle about the backstage drama. Unaffected by the fight, Emma sauntered to do her greedy Goldilocks shoot, and gave them a shot that was just right.

After the shoot, Elle lines up the girls and chastises them for being unprofessional during the shoot; stating that you can never “bring your drama to work”.

With an impending elimination and tensions running high, Dannii decides to sneak into the house and have an impromptu slumber party. She’s able to bring some tranquility, but it is quickly washed away the next morning when Sarah and Holly butt heads once more.

Panel

Dannii loves that when she first looks at Saffron’s picture, everything fades into the background and the eye is drawn by Saff. Elle notes that her acting was impressive on set. The judges agree that Naomi’s image is decent, but Tyson wants more energy in her pose. Elle sees Lauren as a “glamazon”, and Tyson suppresses his sporadic coming to utter a mere “nice”.

Dannii is let down by the lack of energy in Holly’s shot, and Elle mentions that she was too poised on set. The triad loves both Sophie and Sarah’s dedications to the character, but feels that Emily only has one or two looks. Elle confesses that Angel lost her magic on set, and the finished product is lackluster. Emma, however, is anything but.

“Of the nine of you, only five of you are safe. The other four will remain in the room, where we will have a closer look at your work. Afterwards, one of you will leave. The girl who received picture of the week is…”

BOTTOM FOUR

Elle is disappointed because even though Naomi can deliver, she feels that she's not giving enough in photos. Tyson tells her to remain confident because if she pushes harder, she can get it. Dannii tells Holly that she looks too prim and proper in person, and Elle gives her a warning for being tactless on set.

Dannii is tired of Emily's excuses, and Elle agrees that she is not delivering. Tyson believes that Angel is immature, and warns her not to get too wrapped up in drama. Elle agrees that if she lets go of pettiness, she can be on top.

“Four of you stand before me and the portfolio in my hands belongs to the girl who is not still in the running toward becoming Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model. Having said that..."

Holly, Angel, you are safe.

"Now, the girl who I call is no longer in the running toward becoming Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model. That girl is..."

Emily

Emily is gutted about leaving and she is hoping that she can learn from being here. She is rooting for the success of every single girl left.

Next week, the girls take on their biggest challenge; snakes. While some girls fear the reptiles, other girls score ten points for Slytherin. So, until next time, remember that this shoot is

As Easy As Py(thon)
